I don't promise that I will make you laugh,

Call me.

I promise to be there for you.

And I promise to be very quiet.

A Good Woman

 

A good woman is proud.  She respects herself and others. She is aware of who she is.  She neither seeks definition from the person she is with, nor does she expect them to read her mind.  She is quite capable of articulating her needs.

 

A good woman is hopeful. She is strong enough to make all her dreams come true.  She knows love, therefore she gives love.  She recognizes that her love has great value and must be reciprocated.  If her love is taken for granted, it soon disappears.

 

A good woman has a dash of inspiration and a dabble of endurance. She knows that she will at times have to inspire others to reach their full potential.  A good woman knows her past, understands her present and forces toward the future.

Hammering Nails

 

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the fence.

 

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

 

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said you have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there.

 

A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us. It is National Friendship Week. Show your friends how much you care. Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND even if it means sending back to the person who sent it to you. There is always a place for you at my table,

You never need to be invited.

Beauty Tips

 

For attractive lips, Speak words of kindness

 

For lovely eyes, Seek out the good in people.

 

For a slim figure, Share your food with the hungry.

 

For beautiful hair, Let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.

 

For poise, Walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone.

 

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; Never throw out anybody.

 

Remember, If you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm.

 

As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.

 

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, The figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

 

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, Because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.

The only way you can successfully communicate

and relate to other people,

is to like yourself.

incapable

That is all over now.

It is in the past.

The reality is that you're an expressive,

sensitive,

gregarious person,

if only you'll let yourself be.

 

It doesn't matter what someone

has said about you in the past.

It doesn't matter what shortcomings

you have previously experienced.

That is all history.

 

What matters is

what you do from this point forward.

Realize that you are a worthwhile,

valuable person

with an enormous contribution to make.

 

Find the best within yourself

and feel good

about the person you are.

 

You are a special person,

and your life begins today.

Granny's Got a Bike!

 

My family thinks I'm crazy,

for buying this new bike.

Well, who taught them to ride,

when they were little tikes?

 

It seems like everybody wants me

in my rocking chair,

knitting blankets, socks and mittens-

but, there's so much more out there!

 

Well, I have got a wake up call!

You think that I'm too old,

and should be staying in the house-

so I won't catch a cold?

 

Listen up! I'm on my way!

I'm getting out of here!

I'm peddlin' and I'm peddlin'-

so keep those sidewalks clear!

 

I've got my safety helmet on-

so darlings don't you fret.

Cause Granny's got a brand new bike-

you aint seen nothin' yet!

UNVEILED BEAUTY

 

ONCE MORE THE LEAVES ARE TURNING

THEIR GLORIES TO UNFOLD.

THE MOUNTAINSIDES NOW PAINTED

IN HUES OF RED AND GOLD.

 

EACH DAY THE PAINTING CHANGES

AS NEW SHADES ARE ADDED IN

FROM THE ARTIST'S AGE OLD PALETTE ~

WARMTH AND DEPTH ARE ADDED IN.

 

THE VALLEYS ONCE MORE CROWDED

WITH THOSE WHO'VE COME TO SEE ~

THE UNVEILING OF HIS CANVAS

Eternally

 

Therein lies my heart

the truth shall always be

sometimes crystal clear

sometimes evading me

 

So the tides of time

wash away what is today

the moon shall set her course

that I may find my way

 

A wind beneath my hair

floating like a breeze

flying through all time

the moment captures me

 

For one brief moment still

I say my name aloud

contemplating what it means

in the whirlwind of a crowd

full of love that taps the door
