I Will Remember You

I will remember you

Will you remember me?

Don't let your life pass you by

Weep not for the memories

Remember the good times that we had?

I let them slip away from us when things got bad

How clearly I first saw you smilin' in the sun

Wanna feel your warmth upon me, I wanna be the one

I will remember you

Will you remember me?

Don't let your life pass you by

Weep not for the memories

I'm so tired but I can't sleep

Standin' on the edge of something much too deep

It's funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word

We are screaming inside, but we can't be heard

But I will remember you

Will you remember me?

Don't let your life pass you by

Weep not for the memories

I'm so afraid to love you, but more afraid to loose

Clinging to a past that doesn't let me choose

Once there was a darkness, deep and endless night

You gave me everything you had, oh you gave me light

And I will remember you

Will you remember me?

Don't let your life pass you by

Weep not for the memories

And I will remember you

Will you remember me?

Don't let your life pass you by

Weep not for the memories

FREEDOM ISN'T FREE!

I watched the flag pass by one day,

It fluttered in the breeze.

A young Marine saluted it,

And then he stood at ease.

I looked at him in uniform

So young, so tall, so proud,

With hair cut square and eyes alert

He'd stand out in any crowd.

I thought how many men like him

Had fallen through the years.

How many died on foreign soil?

How many mothers' tears?

How many pilots' planes shot down?

How many died at sea?

How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?

No, freedom isn't free.

I heard the sound of Taps one night,

When everything was still,

I listened to the bugler play

And felt a sudden chill.

I wondered just how many times

That Taps had meant "Amen,"

When a flag had draped a coffin

Of a brother or a friend.

I thought of all the children,

Of the mothers and the wives,

Of fathers, sons and husbands

With interrupted lives.

I thought about a graveyard

At the bottom of the sea

Of unmarked graves in Arlington.

No, freedom isn't free.  ~ Author Unknown

A Fireman's Prayer

When I am called to duty, God,

Whenever flames may rage;

Give me strength to save some life,

Whatever be its age.

Help me embrace a little child

Before it is too late

Or save an older person

From the horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert

And hear the weakest shout,

And quickly and efficiently

To put the fire out.

I want to fill my calling

And to give the best in me

To guard my every neighbor

And protect his property.

And if, according to my fate,

I am to lose my life,

Please bless with your protecting

My children and my wife. - Author Unknown    (TOP)  (Back to Stories Index)

The Colors Of Our Nation

Red, White and Blue

That is the color of Me and You

All together we stand

Side by side, hand in hand

As the whole nation is in dismay

Together let us all pray

Pray for the ones we have lost

Pray for the friends and families it has cost

Pray for the ones who are still alive today

Pray that all the pain will go away

Red, White and Blue

That is the color of Me and You

Let us raise our FLAG into the sky

Together as one let us keep our heads held high

United together as we stand

We will fight for our land

For as together united as one

We will never forget what has been done

We will seek deep in our hearts

Courage, Faith and Love to start

Start to protect our land and loved ones

United together we will see that justice is done

We will fight for all we love

And pray to the good Lord above

Red, White and Blue

That is the color of Me and You

All together we stand

Raise our FLAG and reach for a hand

Hold tight, don't let go

For we still have pride to show

God bless us all

And we promise one another we will not fall.

Sense of Nation

I believe I am flying

With the wings of the angels

That my fathers won

With the force of their prayers.

Since the beginning they fought

With faith and passion

For the freedom of their sons

For the peace and the compassion.

Today my strong wings

Has being hurt with great anger

But my eagle eyes are turn

To my God who is in Heaven

My voice is raising the pray

Of the humble faithful fighter:

"You're coming against me with a sword

But I am coming to you in the name of my Lord."

You can touch my body

But never my heart

Which belongs to the ones

That practice freedom in your behalf.

I am the chain of union

I am the state of life

I am the rock of freedom

I am America to all mankind.

It's time for union; its time to give love even to our enemies and show them that our best ally is the God of Mercy!

It Might

You never know when someone

Might catch a dream from you.

Or something you say may open up

The windows of a mind that seeks light;

The way you live may not matter at all,

But you never know. It might.

And just in case it could be

That another life, through you,

Might possibly change for the better

With a better and brighter view,

It seems it might be worth a try

At pointing the way to the right;

Of course, it may not matter at all,

But then again, it might!

It might be just the right words for

Someone you care about to hear. ~ Author Unknown    (TOP)  (Back to Stories Index)

My Sword The Dove

Never will a day go by

when I will not remember,

that fateful day which changed our lives-

the Eleventh of September.

Never will a moment pass

when my lips won't whisper a prayer,

to God for those left in the wake-

of emptiness and terror.

Never will I take for granted

the precious gift of life,

stripped away one horrific day-

our children, husbands, wives.

Never will I fear those who cast

their evil on our land,

nor will I tremble in their presence-

as my spirit takes a stand.

Never wavering in their midst

I raise my sword of faith-the Dove,

who battles not with weapons-

but with the power of Love.

Never will the moment when

the world cried a storm of tears,

leave my heart, my soul my spirit-

it's forever planted there.

Never will that seed grow into

evil, hate or devastation,

I must water it with Heavenly peace-

for the world and for this nation.

Never will I gaze upon

another sister or brother,

and be blinded to the fact that

we're connected to each other.

Never will acts of hatred

overpower those of Love,

for if they do, I shall not have

my sword, my weapon- the Dove.

May the Sword of the Dove

reach every hand,

spreading its love, faith,

comfort, hope and light to all

who loved, lost and wept.

Gently With The Flow

If the sky above seems cloudy,

And you are left out in the rain,

If you are searching for a rainbow,

But the colors bring you pain,

If your world is not revolving,

And there is no end in sight,

If you are looking for the sunshine,

But all you see is night,

If all around are smiling,

But all you can do is frown,

If you are tired of all this living,

When life just brings you down,

Then look beyond your teardrops,

At the wonders of this land,

The beauty of a flower,

Like velvet in your hand.

Feel the air around you,

The smell of new mown hay,

Laughing children in the park,

The innocence there at play,

Imagine floating with a butterfly,

As she flutters between the trees,

Or the whispers of the ocean,

On warm hot summer's breeze,

Think of the taste of candy floss,

As it melts upon your tongue,

Or the melody of morning birds,

As they greet each day with song,

Remember words of beauty,

Told in your mother's embrace,

Feel the gentleness of her touch,

As she softly kissed your face,

Seek the good within you,

Cast the clouds from your sky,

Don't look toward the pavement,

But hold your head up high,

Think not what life owes you,

But of all you have to give,

Forget about tomorrow,

Then you can start to live.

So bless this age you are living in,

With the gifts you can bestow,

Don't disregard the stream of life,

Go gently with the flow. ~  Author Unknown
